Winners: 2009 Nossies

anarchcovertwinner1The 2009 Nossie Awards ended Saturday night and it looks like Anarchs have come into their own.  The big winner of the night was Anarch Convert, who won two awards – Best Vampire in a Supporting Role and the big award – Best Card of the Year!

The other big winner this year was artist Efrem Palacios, who voters picked as their favorite for two awards – Best Artwork in a Crypt Card (Gem Ghastly) and Best Artwork in a Library Card (Repair the Undead Flesh).  Two cards that won overwhelmingly in their categories.

anarchconvertBest Card – Anarch Convert

Anarch Convert proved to truly be the card of the year, winning Best Card and Best Vampire in a Supporting Role.  The tiny little 1-cap that usually burns as soon as he enters play helped make Anarchs a more popular option in VTES.

kevlarvestBest Equipment – Kevlar Vest

“Vest Wishes” went out to Flak Jacket’s younger brother, who was the vest of choice amongst most players this year.  The additional point of damage prevented from gun strikes helped put Kevlar over the top.

ponticulusBest Ally or Retainer – Ponticulus

The little Tremere wraith with the six pack abs is like a mini-intercept location for the clan of warlocks.  Tap him and get +1 intercept.  In addition, he’s immune to non-aggravated damage.

scourgeoftheenochiansBest Event – Scourge of the Enochians

Poor little 2 caps got a big hoser this year.  Ohanna, Mustafa, Samson are now on a short leash with this card in play.  Also all those Third Traditions and Creation Rites aren’t likely to know undeath for long.  Is this the end of Weenietopia?

lutzvonhohenzollernBest Vampire in a Leading Role – Lutz van Hohenzollern

Malkavian Vote got a big boost this year with the addition of the new Inner Circle member.  Now every time a political action at the table passes (not just your own) your prey burns a pool.   Get those Delaying Tactics ready, this guy looks like “Lutz” of trouble.
